Acoustic Space

  • ID: Unique name of the Acoustic Space.
  • Environmment Type: Drop-down list of DirectSound reverb presets.
  • Use Sounds From Region: Drop-down list of existing Regions. That Region's sound data will now play back with its current settings in this Acoustic Space. Corresponds to Regions set up in World --> Regions.
  • Looping Sound: Sound that will be looped in this Acoustic Space. Typically a stereo looping file to provide unique background noise or roomtone.

Notes

  • "Environment Type" is only used if the INI setting "bEnableEnviroEffectsOnPC" is set to 1. Otherwise, it has no effect.
  • Setting bEnableEnviroEffectsOnPC can have serious performance impacts. Note also that during dialogue the reverberation if any is abruptly cut off at the end of each spoken line.
  • In New Vegas, Acoustic Spaces placed in cells do not function due to an engine bug. (This is fixed in JIP LN 55.60.)
